                      Peasant's Temple

  Breathtaking views, peaceful solitude, and Michelob

  Could not erase the self-produced pain and misery

  Clear water, clean air, and nature's harmony

  Fell short of healing the bloodless gash

  Thus I climbed higher and higher, steeper and steeper

  Finally ascending to a Pagan's lofty pulpit

  All the way up I had prepared and rehearsed, contemplated and dreamt

  The words would surely come wouldn't they?

  As I crawled out onto the ancient draw plank the wind blew back my hair

  Tears streaming I attempted to address the innocent habitat below

  I stammered and stuttered, even thinking about the flutter

  Only to utter a sparse few archaic syllables

  Frustrated and tired I called on Mother Nature

  Like always, she spoke to my need

  Yet only temporarily...
